Put text into a text field in another program

I want to automate some programs I like to have run at startup on my Windows Machine and some of them require my credentials to the service (BattleNet, Skype, etc.) Is there a way with the command line or using another programming language I can use to automate this process? If so where should I be looking to find information on how to do this.
